Lindred (US) creates twisted holy pop, hyper-emotional music with glistening melodies and underworld angel vocals. They create entire sonic fantasy worlds, pulling you in with tender devotion and a fall from grace marked by razor sharp synths and watery escapes of blissful noise. Their live performance is a ritual centered around the exaltation of earthly love and the subsequent transformation through sex and death.
The name is made up of Lindi and Dreda, a union that connects serpent and beauty, despair and
euphoria. In summer of 2020, Lindred created Soundspa, an immersive deep listening practice with equal parts ephemeral sound design and cyber-witchery based in their Mexican American folk magic heritage and south Texas regional upbringing. Currently they are working as Soundspa on a
commission for Welsh youth with Kelly Lee Owens and a multi-disciplinary durational dance
performance with Claudia Ortiz Arraiza and Jemima Rose Dean. In fall of 2021, they’ve resumed
hosting Soundspa sessions locally in Berlin.
Performances include Modular Gang at ://about blank, remotely PS Festival where the
performance was broadcasted on Chaturbate and projected at Untitled Club (Moscow), Um
Festival (Germany), Hraničář Cultural Center Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic), and MIT Media
Lab (USA).
